In response to the absence of an established pipeline for diverse and inclusive hiring and to address staff retention challenges, we designed an Intern-to-Full Time Employee (FTE) pipeline as a sustainability tool for staffing and to ensure diverse hiring within our clinical research team. Our results suggest that partnering with underrepresented and underserved community groups can impact the dynamics of a growing team by increasing diversity, creating a culture of collaboration and mentorship and overall engagement in the work by interns and FTEs alike.
